Withholding Allowances
If you want to have more tax taken out of your paycheck, then just lower your number of allowances.For example, if you recently completed your W-4 stating married with 5 allowances, then change it to married with a lower number of allowances. You will have more tax withheld from your paycheck each pay period, but your take home pay or your check amount will be lower.
This method may help you from owing the IRS at the end of the year. Adjust your allowances to what you can live with. Remember this will be withheld from your check each pay period.
